The article “Enhancing Vocabulary Retention Through Contextual Learning in Intermediate EFL Classrooms” examines how contextual learning helps intermediate EFL learners acquire and retain new vocabulary more effectively. It argues that vocabulary should be learned through meaningful situations rather than simple memorization. The paper explores strategies such as using real-life contexts, stories, and reading passages to make vocabulary learning more engaging and lasting. It also highlights how contextual learning improves comprehension, recall, and active use of words in communication. The study concludes that applying contextual methods in EFL classrooms increases learner motivation and promotes long-term vocabulary retention.
