INTEGRATING THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES IN TRANSLATION STUDIES: EQUIVALENCE, PRAGMATICS, SEMIOTICS, AND LINGUISTIC APPROACHES (711-714-bet)
Annotatsiya
This article explores key theoretical and conceptual approaches in translation studies, focusing on four interconnected dimensions: linguistic equivalence, pragmatics, semiotics, and the tension between structural and functional linguistics. It examines the challenges of achieving equivalence across languages, the role of pragmatic context in shaping translation choices, the semiotic perspective on signs and cultural codes, and the contrast between formal-structural and functional approaches to meaning in translation. By reviewing seminal works and recent developments, the paper argues that an integrative framework that combines structural rigor with functional sensitivity is most promising for dealing with the complexities of translation in multicultural and multimodal contexts.
