This article critically examines Tamim Ansary‘s Destiny Disrupted: A History of the World Through Islamic Eyes (2009), a book that reinterprets world history from the perspective of Islamic civilization. The analysis highlights its challenge to Eurocentric historiography, its emphasis on the Golden Age of Islam, its treatment of colonial encounters, and its pedagogical value. While its accessibility makes it effective for education, its simplifications and binary framing are also noted. The article concludes that Destiny Disrupted should be read as a cultural intervention that broadens global historiography and fosters intercultural dialogue.
